For the convenience of drinking tea, we often use disposable paper cups to make tea. Are disposable paper cups safe? Maybe the tested paper cups are safe, but do you know that you can make tea with disposable paper cups?
1. Using paper cups to make tea will greatly reduce the taste and color of the tea, and reduce the nutritional value of the tea. The Quality Supervision Bureau of Jiangsu Province has recently carried out supervision and spot checks and risk monitoring on food paper container products. The results of the spot checks show that paper cups are not suitable for making tea.
2. The quality inspectors conducted field tests on this phenomenon. Quality inspectors weigh 1 gram each of green tea and oolong tea in disposable paper cups and glass cups, and weigh 0.5 gram of black tea because of its darker color after soaking. Pour boiling water into disposable paper cups and glasses, and after standing for 20 minutes, the color of black tea in double-layer paper cups is obviously darker than that of glass cups, while the color of green tea and oolong tea in paper cups is yellower than that of tea in glass cups.
3. The test results of tea polyphenols oxidation show that the main reason for the darkening or yellowing of tea water is the oxidation of nutrients such as tea polyphenols in tea water. If tea polyphenols are oxidized, it will directly affect the taste and color of tea and reduce the nutritional value of tea.
4. Drinking tea from advertising paper cups is not only bad, but also destroys the nutritional value of tea. When making tea, don’t use freshly boiled water to make tea in disposable paper cups. Try to make tea in glass cups, enamel cups or professional tea making utensils with water at about 75°C. It is generally recommended that you leave the boiled water for about 10 minutes before making tea.
